What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
The Jetstream explores upper atmosphere jetstream airflow, where air is compelled along a converging and diverging stream with an intensity of speed varying with funnelled flow. This dynamic is represented in a series of sculptural forms of intensively welded stainless steel volume, dense at one end and diaphanous at the other, converging and diverging, suggesting speed and flow. The pieces have the quality of giant jewellery, and are handcrafted by Janos Korban. They work as comfortable, sculptural seating for special spaces.
