Eclipse Intercontinental

The new café fitout is weaved into the existing heritage building. The building was stripped back and much of it remains untouched, including the raw brickwork walls, juxtaposing the adjacent new servery. The modest insertion employs simple materials and graphic engravings to create a narrative of the lived history of the interior. A ply bulkhead dropped down from the ceiling above the servery area defines the space, and a zigzagged insertion clad in etched ply sections off the kitchen.
