Kennedy Nolan sought to make a new and impactful gesture that could gather this Melbourne school together physically and psychologically, ensuring a sense of positive and exciting change. Problems of the campus included lack of urban identity and a disparate collection of buildings that etiolated the sense of a unified campus.
