The National Hotel

Breathe Architecture

Located in the Chinese quarter of Melbourne’s Victoria Street, the Victorian era The National Hotel has been re-imagined for the present-day and stands unpretentiously robust and utilitarian. Stripped back to its bones, the space is zoned in different sections – café, booth seating, dining room, courtyard – and features a monumental bar stretching from the inside of the building to the outside. As a whole, the project functions as a place of inclusive gathering.
