The spaces KPDO creates are often warm and welcoming, largely due to the studio’s self-confessed ‘emotional’ design method. Visceral in nature, KPDO projects continually embody aesthetic and practical strengths that balance their more soulful elements. Appearing in three categories in this year’s awards, for three very different projects, KPDO makes it into the 2012 Designer of the Year shortlist for harmoniously combining adaptability and consistency of design aesthetic.
