Thirlmere Rail Heritage Centre

The building is conceived as the convergence of two large asymmetric wedges. The smaller wedge houses entry, café, shop and administration, while the larger houses the main exhibition spaces. A colour palette of faded red and acid yellow wrap the internal spaces, extending through glazing to exterior soffit and walls. Terrazzo, plywood and perforated metal joinery and an embossed concrete wall at the entry anchor the vibrant colour above.
