Kryolan Cosmetics

Inspiration is drawn from the natural environment for this fitout. Biomorphic design is explored in the bulbous form of the mezzanine, which serves as an office/training facility above the shop. Key aesthetic and functional elements were handmade by craftsmen, supported by contemporary processes. The ceiling form was handmade in several large moulds then assembled on site; the herringbone floor was hand-laid; while a local furniture maker produced the cabinetry. The acrylic drawers that store the cosmetics were also custom-designed for the fitout.
