Seven Seeds

Many of the existing features of the warehouse have been retained in this project, reducing the use of new materials. Recycled steel and timber are used where possible, while new timber framing is sourced from local pine plantations. A 10,000L wall of rainwater tanks act as a heat sink for the roasters, and is used in toilet cisterns and roasting equipment. No air conditioning or mechanical cooling is required, as existing concrete slab and brickwork stabilise the internal temperature. A hydroponic courtyard works as a natural evaporative cooling system.
