Perforated House

Kavellaris Urban Design (KUD)

Perforated House is a critique of cultural attitudes towards heritage significance. By breaking down the elements that typify the terrace house, the project retains the symbolism of the terrace but brings it to a satirical level. Designed as more than just a façade or a graphic drawn on the exterior, the external façade is also experienced inside. It serves to transform the built form from solid to void, public to private, opaque to translucent – in turn manipulating the interior and blurring the boundaries between inside and outside.
