Eat Green Design

As part of Sydney Design Week 2009, the Powerhouse Museum hosted Eat Green Design, an event where sustainable food was served on sustainable plates and lectures were given on sustainable design. A pop-up restaurant was created in the vast Turbine Hall to accommodate the event. A low suspended ceiling of sustainable ply was laser-cut with tapering spirals, referencing party streamers, which hang to create opportunities for pendant lighting. The warm, intimate, festive and whimsical space utilises a tectonically minimal strategy to create three-dimensional space.
