Cafe Vue @ 401

Café Vue at 401 St Kilda Road is the latest addition to Shannon Bennett’s Vue brand, which serves café-style French food. Drawing on the life of Marie Antoinette and the Palace of Versailles, the café features ornate detailing and bold patterned tiles. The kitchen and wet area recall the Hall of Mirrors, while the palace gardens are recreated outside. A dome over one table echoes the shape of Marie’s skirt bustle, while the blood red bathrooms are a homage to her dramatic death.
