Memorable and playful, the design draws on tropes of industrial abstraction. The numbered and coloured ceiling ‘portals’, for example, populating the Lower Ground ‘street’ are a lively response and not what is expected of a shopping centre. Moreover, the combination of sound, mirror and video art confuses the dimensions of this subterranean arcade.
