Preserving the history of the 1898-built Faulding’s Building entailed stripping back the brickwork, floors, columns and windows to reveal their original form, while the new built form exists as a sensitive response to the original fabric that ensures a clear delineation between old and new, such as new concrete bench tops and recycled timber.
