Quality finishes and craftsmanship elevate the Translational Research Institute from the stereotypically functional and featureless laboratory setting to a very human place for esteemed scientific work. Conceived as interconnected places to enable a community of research, the project makes aggregates of scale and place in a single site by isolating them as fragments. A landscaped outdoor room contributes identity while also providing respite from research intensity.
