Existing spaces within this majestic Victorian terrace were endowed with appropriate scale and proportion. Emphasis therefore turned to internal replanning and to make existing grand gestures feel intimate and balanced. Fundamental to that was the relocation of the kitchen to the rear of the house. This introduced direct connectivity to the garden and encouraged uninhibited flow. Joinery, designed as furniture elements, appears as beautiful objects in the spaces, beyond its practical, utilitarian purpose.
