This project at the University of Technology Sydney capitalises on technological advances in materials and fabrication since the original Brutalist tower’s construction. The signature element of the work is ‘The Mantle’ – a fluid skin of over 1000 perforated aluminium facets lining the ceiling and walls of the Great Hall. Annexed to this is the Balcony Room – a soaring reception space – providing a link between the spaces and commanding views across the future Alumni Green.
