Cumulus

Created for VIVID Sydney 2012, Cumulus responds to the often unsettled weather during the festival and is designed to work around it. Effectively, the light installation is a giant three-metre cloud made from perforated aluminium sheets and lit by Phillips string node LEDs. The cloud is programmed with coloured and storm effects, and aims to draw attention to weather patterns around the globe, potentially serving as a subtle warning about climate change.
