An existing 1930s building has been retrofitted, with 90 percent of the existing structure retained. Façade shading systems reduce heat impact on western glazing, while natural light is maximised through existing openings and a new two-storey atrium. A cooling labyrinth system is used in conjunction with thermal chimneys and automated windows for natural ventilation. The building can be used in mixed modes, with a building management system to monitor use. Rainwater is collected and reused for irrigation.
