Puckapunyal Military Area Memorial Chapel

The chapel is a reinterpretation of a place of worship, reflecting the traditions of sacred spaces while also delivering an environment that accommodates multiple faiths. Physical space is extracted from a three-dimensional black zinc box to form three internal courtyards. These spaces offer privacy, provide multi-functional spaces and enable light and views from spaces that would otherwise have been internalised. A zinc façade wraps rich, tactile internal spaces filled with natural light to offer a peaceful sanctuary.
