Killara Residence

The existing 1930s home has been refurbished and a contemporary pavilion added to the rear. The open-plan addition features four zones: meals, circulation, lounging and external living. Traditional materials such as sandstone, travertine, marble and timber lend the space a timeless sophistication. Decorative timber mouldings inspired by the original home add texture to the balustrade, wall panelling and the screens that link the old and new zones. A floating roof and high windows flood the pavilion with natural light.
