Flat Pack Bed

This sustainable, cost effective bed base design is informed by functionality. The base is largely hidden by a mattress, creating a weightless aesthetic. Its reduced visual mass resonates with its small physical footprint, minimising contact with shins and toes. The design also addresses mobility issues. The CNC-cut 12mm plywood structure is lightweight and easily transportable, and is assembled without mechanical fasteners. Thinner plywood allows two curving longitudinal beams to provide triangulated stability and increase tension between joints.
