Carriage House

Built in 1850 as a carriage house, this building was converted into a metal castings factory in the early 1900s before more recently becoming a home/studio. Respecting the building’s history, original walls, beams, columns and timberwork have been repaired. New walls, lighting troughs and joinery are expressed and separate from the original. The industrial aesthetic is reflected in the kitchen materials, which include stainless steel, recycled blackbutt and feature pendants inspired by warehouse lights.
