Bloom

Bloom is an interactive chandelier commissioned by Metalab Creative for COTA, a boutique jewellery store in Sydney. The brief called for an interactive pendant that would occupy the space without obscuring display cabinets. Sensor-activated LEDs are fitted inside eight bulb forms constructed from laser-cut stainless steel. Each wire bulb encloses an abstract floral form, which blooms with changing colour. Bulbs act as a proximity sensor, so that lights change as customers move their hands closer to the lamps.
