x&y bar

The brief for x&y bar was to create a place where people could gather and listen to live music in a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere—an antidote to the increasing number of selective glossy bars in Brisbane. The history, in the layers of paint, abandoned graffiti and structural elements, was maintained and acknowledged, whilst at the same time a new identity was introduced. Bold colours, textures and graphic art are features of the upstairs live music venue and the more intimate and sophisticated bar downstairs.
