Westwyck Unit 4

Unit 4 reinforces and displays the green ethos of the Westwyck community. Insulation and double glazing upgrade the existing building fabric, as does solar hot-water and solar-boosted hydronic heating (which has re-used the original cast iron hydronic heating panel). Additional energy produced can be fed into the communal grid. Unit 4 is also connected to both a black water and grey water treatment system on site, and has access to collected rainwater. Re-used and recycled, or otherwise raw, materials were primarily used, including salvaged items of joinery.
