Sydney Seafood School – IDEA 2020

Sydney Seafood School

The refurbishment of this seafood school transforms it into a dramatic, cooking theatre. A sculptural sandstone wall by Michael Purdy sits within a timber-clad entrance hall, while chalk graffiti by Joy Godley and her team decorate the kitchen. Icelandic fish leather covers the kitchen walls, while the benchtop is made from fossil-rich limestone. The dark, dramatic interior features stainless steel benches and spotlights. The dining room includes a photomural of Pyrmont, handmade pendant lights with over 6,000 light globes and an abundance of fishing net and rope.
