Randwick Library

CK Design International

The redesign of the Randwick Library focuses on connection and discovery, transforming the entrance of the library into a shopfront. Replacing masonry with full-height glass, the library draws visitors in with a turquise ‘discovery wall’ listing events alongside photographs, street names and maps of the local area. Natural light floods the heart of the library through a 6-metre diameter skylight, where multi-coloured clouds distort the light and create moving patterns across the room. A visual language of diagonal lines, round-ended rectangles and diamond shapes reference the Randwick racetrack.
