Maker’s Workshop

Maker’s Workshop in Burnie brings together Creative Paper, which developed from the town’s paper production industry, local artisans and regional heritage. The Workshop is designed as more than a visitor centre, but rather as a ‘living room’ for the town. The contemporary exterior is an addition to the surrounding large-scale industrial objects. The polycarbonate cladding provides an ever-changing façade from both inside and out; it is a lighthouse above the beach. The interior lime-stained composite timber lining to the central room alludes to the port-side location.
