Iona Ave

The design of Iona Ave creates a gracious living space that is inspiring and uplifting to live in. The challenging site presented two problems: it was both small in size, and located on the southern side of the street. These problems have been addressed by reversing the conventional layout of the home, and providing a seamless transition from inside to outside. The living area opens onto a paved terrace, which faces north to capture the sun. On the ground floor, rooms are grouped around the entrance hall, while a sculptural, semi-circular staircase connects the two floors.
