Taking place in Melbourne from 22–30 November, IDEA week 2011 sees the return of popular events including Sound Bites and Design Pitch, as well as exciting new events including a presentation from the Colourways team, a look at the latest kitchen design trends from Europe as well as Australian Design Limited – an evening celebrating local design talent. The Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) showcase the best of Australian design. The prestigious awards program receives hundreds of submissions from across Australia each year and is recognised by the design community as the country’s pre-eminent design awards program.
IDEA promotes and rewards recent work in interior design and product design across 14 different categories, as well as recognising emerging young talent and designers whose work demonstrates exemplary sustainable objectives.
The full shortlist for (inside) magazine’s Interior Design Excellence Awards 2011 was announced in August. Many thanks to all of the architects and designers who submitted their projects to IDEA 2011, and our congratulations to all of the successful entries to this year’s program. This year was our biggest yet, with over 400 submissions across all 14 categories.
