Glasshouse: Arts, Conference and Entertainment Centre

The Glasshouse interior showcases the high quality timber of the region. The donated floor of the Upper Level Foyer and Gallery comprises five local hardwoods and is ‘Mill Finished’, which increases the amount of the tree that can be used and evokes the stresses of the original forest. The multivalent qualities of timber are fully exploited in the auditorium, where intimacy is generated by the scale and colour of the sculptural cliffs of Spotted-Gum veneered timber panels, acoustically designed to reflect, disperse and absorb sound.
