Westpac’s new 8,000m2 metropolitan contact centre explores the notion of transitional space in a flexible ‘landscape of contrasts’. Shifting away from a pure processing environment, the future focused solution is a hybrid contact and operations knowledge centre that provides greater customer value. The design activates horizontal and linear communities, creating local neighbourhoods that encourage collaboration, teaming and knowledge sharing, supported by zones to enable active mentoring and development. Shared spaces have been created with magnified themes to establish a clear definition from work areas. Work points have been rationalised and an adaptable benching system introduced.
