Nicholls + Scott for Designbloc

Nicholls+Scott is a collaboration between industrial designers Ross Nicholls and Greg Scott, who met in 2004 while studying Industrial Design at the University of New South Wales. In 2008, Nicholls+Scott was formed and their first range of products, ‘Shell’, introduced. Nicholls+Scott was initially formed as a reaction against mindless supply and demand. Their work can be characterised by a rigorous understanding of the materials and process used rather than a single aesthetic, aiming to highlight the hand of the manufacturer in order to encourage a perception of the products as a profound and lasting feat of human ingenuity.
