Google’s new headquarters occupies levels 5 and 6 of the Darling Island Workplace 6 building. Workplace 6 is the first multi-tenanted building to be certified with a 6 star Green Star Office Design rating and target a 6 star Green Star Office As-Built rating, which presented issues never before encountered with regards to the integration of base building and fit out. However, close collaboration with the base building team, services engineers, other project consultants and contractors and the Green Building Council of Australia led to a result that is expected to achieve a high Nabers Energy star rating and meet its targeted Green Star Office Interiors rating.
