The fit-outs for Fox FM and Triple M co-exist in the new Austereo premises without any dilution of their iconic, though diametrically opposite, brand identities. The design evokes the intrigue and irony of discovering a glamorous venue, tucked above a grimy laneway, illustrating the inexplicable cultural linkage between the two faces of Melbourne (which both stations represent). The interior design characterises the two stations through a stark juxtaposition of black and white punctuated by surprising ‘reveals’ of each station’s brand colour. The elongated floor plate is further exaggerated by a 70-metre long ‘street’ connecting various work areas, with studio spaces as key destination points.
