What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
What sets the new ‘green’ Moorabbin Justice Centre apart is the vast north-facing, naturally lit lobby in a public building. It demonstrates the stated aim of the project to provide access to the justice system in a transparent, humane manner, visually and physically appealing without compromising security. A series of internal, landscaped courtyards, visible from courtrooms and offices, introduce a pleasant ‘green’ ambience and light into the building while artwork, commissioned from local VCE students, adorns the walls of the foyer.
