What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
The new Gorman outlet in South Yarra responds to key emerging social issues; the need for a more sustainable built environment, and the need to change consumer habits from mass consumption to considered consumption. The fit-out was seen as an opportunity to demonstrate environmental leadership. The guiding principle was to use recycled construction materials, fittings and fixtures where possible, or to attempt to source items made from selected, predominantly natural raw materials from well managed and sustainable suppliers.
