What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
Using cutting edge surfboard manufacturing techniques I wanted to create a large piece of bark to relax in. I wanted it to float in water and sit on land, to be used inside and out. I wanted it to be stackable and light. Fabric is used to create interesting graphics on the surface and this can be easily changed during manufacture. Bark chaise weighs 3.4kg, 10mm thick, strong, stackable and it floats in the pool!
