What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
The challenge was to maintain the northern aspect yet open the house to the views of the south. Additions to the house created a horseshoe shape, with a central grassed courtyard in the middle. Although it is large in scale the home has proportions that are suited to one person or many. Internally rustic materials such as the Tasmanian Blackwood timber floors combine with streamlined materials such as the custom designed steel bench tops. Outdoor entertaining areas are framed with stringy bark pergolas and decking.
