What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
The entrance of OMD’s new workplace sets the ‘homely’ tone, with a reclaimed railway station bench and a low, inviting reception desk with a built in display case of ‘old media’. An open, buzzing workspace, with islands of carpet set on a concrete terrazzo slab, is separated from reception only by pivoting glass panels. The heritage of the old Richmond Power Station is maintained through light, independent additions. A lowered raw plywood ceiling was clamped to the steel beams.
