What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
The design reflects the business culture of “innovative conservatism” of Korda Mentha. The organisation desired transparency of operation with an appearance of solidity. A blurring of lines between public spaces and common staff spaces is reflected in the planning, feature forms, reception desk and even the graphic films. Traditional materials were in curved forms merge the two spaces. A flowing yet strong line, drawing upon the reference of the swift strokes of an artists brush, enables the eye to wander between the public and private realm.
