What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
The update of this family dwelling to a contemporary home endows a seamless transition between inside and outside, without losing the sense of enclosure of the “rooms”. A dramatic double volume foyer leads to a house filled with light. And the glass under the floating roof and internal courtyard allow glimpses of the sky. Limewashed blackbutt flooring gives a contemporary feel, timber panelling on the walls adds warmth and selected furniture in rich primary contrasts these earthy colours.
