What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
Arête leans softly into position, guided by gravity. As an ambient light source, this design folds through 180 degrees as it climbs up, or falls down the wall, depending on your point of view. Exploring the corner as both structural support and light diffuser has led to an integrated object that performs its function in a single ribbon of material. This design attempts to use light to spatially connect four planes from floor to walls to ceiling.
