What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
The intention was to design a number of low sculptural tables appearing deceptively haphazard in construction. Random organic shapes were mapped with reference points and converted as DXF files, computerised-cut in glass then painted green, black, red or white. The tapering legs were lathed in solid Australian hardwood, then stained and clear lacquered. The Spinneys are flat packed with the legs being simply screwed on then tightened, with no need for tools or adhesives.
