A formalised entry with access to the northern side of the house terminates at an entry door where the old meets the new, managed by a lightwell and circulation spine running north-south. The transition space includes stairs to both floors, a corridor providing access to living spaces upstairs and a large two-storey glass wall facing east. A glimpse on entry of the new courtyard on the northern side of the house connects the indoors and outdoors. Along the southern edge of the house an extruded box includes a new kitchen, living spaces and a deck that cantilevers towards the pool and courtyard.
