Located in a heritage-listed building, Silk Road’s interior unfolds beyond the very understated façade into an opulent venue featuring six bars and a Tepanyaki grill. A steel structure sculptural insertion into the double-height space created the upper ground level above the mezzanine level that is sympathetic in its juxtaposition to the existing space. Glass doors lead patrons past towering marble sculptures to the main bar of the ground floor. Here, the bar counters, retained from the original banking chamber, clad in limestone and marble, glow in the reflection of the grand chandeliers above. The Caviar Bar on the top floor overlooks all.
