This project is about the precise carving of a residence into a land-locked site. Planning restrictions, including adjoining substations and height covenants, control a low profiled street elevation. The three bedroom residence has been sculptured into the site, resulting in an unexpected volume of interior space, light and privacy. The house pivots around a central light court and sunken reflection pond where water, sculpture, access to light and natural ventilation are core to the interior performance. Quality materials were meticulously selected, detailed and constructed to craft a refined contemporary luxury residence in inner city Melbourne.
