Responding to the diverse nature of projects throughout Australia, a new category has been added to IDEA 2010. This new category will showcase built work that is associated with events, exhibitions and structures of a temporary nature. The Event category will provide the framework to feature a sumptuous marquee at the Melbourne Racing Carnival, a cutting-edge exposition at the National Gallery or the latest ‘pop up’ shop with a finite life span. The Event category acknowledges that great design isn’t always built to last but will be remembered for years to come.
