Strategically repositioning the entrance to Raheen Library to give visitors a stronger arrival experience is part of a revamp that increased floor space by 40 per cent and student capacity by 77 per cent. Symbolic of books held in the library, the materiality selected for the project was inspired by paper. References to folding, sewing, endpaper designs and bookbinding are visible in the fine vertical timber battens and crumpled paper lightshades.
