My Patch

Inaugurated in 2008, the 2011 incarnation of this supplier-sponsored model-making workshop for children – My Patch – took on the theme of ‘My Kinetic City’. Installed at Victoria’s State of Design festival 2011, the theme explored design and motion in structures built by the young model makers, and allowed participants to construct their own ideal ‘patch’ of a city. Over the course of the day, ‘patches’ were pieced together to form a vibrant, mini-cityscape of an imagined Melbourne.
